District Administration

     The district is under the charge of a Deputy Commissioner, who also function as District Magistrate, District Collector, Executive Director of DRDA and Chairman of Executive Planning Committee. He is assisted by senior class I (MCS) officer who function as Additional District Magistrate, District Planning Officer and Chief Executive Officer, Thoubal Zilla Parishad, some Class II (SDCs) who function as Branch Officer, a District Supply Officer, a District Information Officer, an Assistant Election Officer and a District Informatics Officer (NIC) for promotion and development of IT in the district.

     The district has three Sub-Divisions namely, Thoubal, Kakching and Lilong under the charge of one Sub-Divisional Officer each and 8 Sub-Deputy Collectors for Administrative control, two Municipalities namely Thoubal and Kakching, Seven Small Town Committees and 42 Gram Panchayats. There are 2 Community Blocks, viz, Thoubal and Kakching under the charge of one Block Development Officer each.
